Physiotherapy and Osteopathy: adults and children

Physiotherapy treatment plans are individual to each client and therefore discussed with you and only prescribed after a thorough assessment process.

Will include:

Corrective exercises, practice and education: Strengthening, stretching, balance and core stability
Pain management and pacing advice


Often includes one or more of the following:

Manual therapy
Soft tissue therapy / Sports Massage
Ergonomic workstation assessments and correction advice
Vestibular / dizziness therapy and exercises
Acupuncture
Ultrasound Therapy
TENS machine
Walking aid or therapy aid provision
Kinesiology / Sports Taping

Sports Massage Treatments

Sports massage treatment may be included in your general physiotherapy plan or provided as part of an individual treatment. Sports massage only appointments include a short medial screening and discussion of any problem areas.


Will include:


Pre-treatment discussion
A Sports massage (firm, medium pressure) or Swedish massage (light pressure)
Post treatment advice


May include:

Trigger point release work 
Fascia release work
Advice about other beneficial treatments recommended

The Performance Matrix (TPM)

TPM treatment appointments occur AFTER an assessment appointment where the TPM movement screening occurs, and your individual treatment plan is discussed.

Will include:

One to one ‘re-training’ – akin to Physio / Pilates / Personal Training of exercises.
Strengthening
Stretching
Core stability
Motor Control
Alignment


May include our helping hands with:


Manual therapy
Soft tissue therapy / Sports Massage
Acupuncture
Kinesiology / Sports Taping


After a period of re-training we will re-screen you and present a detailed analysis of your results and changes. Annual TPM screenings help you monitor your movement health like a body ‘MOT’ and prevent injuries returning.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is clinically proven to reduce pain and muscle tension, promote healing, recovery and relaxation amongst other benefits. We mostly use acupuncture in a combined treatment with other physiotherapy techniques and exercise prescription in our physiotherapy service. Acupuncture only appointments include a short medical screening and discussion of any problem areas. The treatments last approximately 25 minutes with results noticeable immediately.

Acupuncture needle application and treatment
Post treatment advice


May include:


Dry needling techniques
Trigger point release work 
Fascia release work
Advice about other beneficial treatments recommended

Taping and strapping

Taping and strapping techniques are mostly used in a combined treatment with other physiotherapy techniques and exercise prescription in our physiotherapy service. Sports Tape only appointments can be requested for:


Joints or muscles with pain
Posture correction
Optimal performance in a sporting event
Injury management during regular training or an event


Sports taping is clinically proven to reduce pain, swelling and support injured structures. It is also proven to promote quality muscle activation and movement patterns, both in the presence or absence of injury. It’s a great tool for event day performance enhancement.

Tape application
Post treatment advice

Ergonomic assessments

Ergonomic assessments assist with workstation posture issues and are mostly conducted via discussion in combination with other physiotherapy techniques and exercise prescription within our physiotherapy service. 

We can provide an ergonomic risk assessment ONLY appointment at your workspace, for an individually quoted fee. This is a thorough, measured, evidenced based, risk assessment which includes a review of the person involved and the desk setup itself; along with close monitoring of the success of changes made to resolve any desk working issues and improve worker health, comfort and productivity at work. Following the implementation of the work station adjustments a second risk assessment is conducted with a follow up report emphasising issues and risks resolved.

Workstation measuring
Thorough injury risk assessment of desk user
Unique office station set-up advice
Individual price quote per request
Personal report for self and employer: discussing evidenced risk reduction, health benefits and any other recommendations.


Recommendations may include:


Changes to workstation set up
Equipment alteration
Desk user exercise/posture/therapy advice
